Aurora Gonzalez Rizzi, loving wife and mother, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 28, 2018. Born on November 1, 1933, Aurora grew up in Riverside, graduated from Poly High School in 1950, and retired from the Riverside Unified School District having worked as both a teacher’s aide and welfare and attendance clerk. Aurora will be remembered for her love of family and friends and her generous nature. Aurora is survived by her husband Anthony of 66 years and their children Jackie (John), Jim (Vicki), Frank (Cindy), Maria (Randy), Anthony (Linda), Cathy (Mark), 15 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren; her siblings Frank (Sharon), Norma (Robert), Raymond (Armida), Gloria, Joseph (Irene), sister-in-law Marsha and numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Maria and siblings Peter, Jess, Maria and Rose. Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer on Monday, January 14, 2019, from 4pm until 6pm followed by a Rosary at 6:30pm. The following day, Tuesday, January 15, 2019, the Mass at 10am at St. Catherine of Alexandria Church with a reception immediately after in the Parish Hall. Burial will follow at 2pm at Riverside National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the Alzheimer’s Association.
