

On February 8, 2017 Betty Jean (Fry) Higdon left Riverside, CA bound to relatives who have passed on before her. She was preceded in death by her middle daughter, Karen Brown, her husband, Ray Higdon, her brothers, Cecil, Jack and Alfred Fry and sister Evelyn Jones.
She is survived by daughter Linda Lane (Pete), son Robert Heller (Junko) and grandsons Leo Brown and Riku Heller.
Betty was born 12-7-1932 in Malad City, Idaho. In 1950 she graduated high school in Ogden Utah. There she met and married Robert E. Heller, a Sgt. in the Air Force. In 1960 Bob, Betty and their two girls were transferred to Brussels, Belgium. It was there that their son, Bobby, was born. Betty fell in love with travel while in Belgium.
In 1967 Betty became a Massage Therapist and worked at Gilman Hot Springs Resort. In 1978 she opened her own Massage Therapy business, Riverside Massage Therapy Center. Betty fought tirelessly to transform massage therapy into a thriving and accepted practice. She was the first female to receive a license to practice in the city of Riverside. She was truly a pioneer in her field.
Betty’s love of travel never diminished and in 2000 she met Ray Higdon. Theirs was a beautiful love story and on Feb. 14th 2005, they married. And they travelled…….
Private services will be held at a later date in Daniels, Idaho. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers donations be made to GHC Home Health and Hospice, 906 W. 9th Street, Upland,CA 91786.
