

Celia Mae Turner passed away on January 25, 2022, she was 87 years old. Celia was born on September 04, 1934, in Prim, Arkansas, to mother and father Jessie and Claude Burnett, both now deceased. Celia and her family moved to California in 1935. Celia graduated from Excelsior High School in 1952. After high school, Celia worked for the Norwalk School District.
Celia met her husband, Leon Turner, in church. They married and lived in Anaheim, California before moving to Norco, California in 1964 where they remained until her death. When Leon started a drywall business Celia served as bookkeeper and office manager for 50 years, until the business was closed in 2020. Celia was many things to many people; she touched many lives. She was an avid bowler and bowled along with Leon in several leagues throughout their lives. She was an avid reader and treasured her library. Among her other hobbies, Celia was an expert seamstress and tended to her beautiful garden. She took up golf later in life and enjoyed playing whenever she had a chance to. Celia volunteered at many school and 4-H functions. She devoted her life to her family and husband, always there for everyone’s needs.
Celia was preceded in death by her brother Calvin Burnett, sister Beverly Thompson and beloved grandson Seth. Celia is survived by her husband of 68 years, Leon Turner, her brother Wayne Pettay, her daughters Diane Turner and Malinda Martin, her son David, her granddaughters Michele Mendoza, Amanda Martin and Rachael, her grandson Michael Martin Jr., her great-granddaughters Ariel Thrasher and Megan Mendoza, her great grandsons Justin Mendoza, Jacob Mendoza and Antonio Mendoza, her great-great grandson Benjamin Mendoza and many nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, March 02,2022 at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park (11500 Arlington Ave., Riverside, CA 92505). A service will be held from 10:00 am to 11:00 am on Thursday, March 03,2022, also at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park. A graveside ceremony will follow the service. A gathering for fellowship and celebrating Celia Mae Turner’s life will be held from 11:30 am to 3:30 pm at Norco Village Banquet Hall (2743 Hamner Ave #101, Norco 92860).
