

Charles, known by family and friends as “Sonny” or “Chuck”, was born in 1948 to Charles W. Killingbeck, an electrical contractor, and Ester Killingbeck, a beauty shop operator. He grew up in the “Wood Streets” and enjoyed skating at the Riverside Roller Rink and riding his horse, Joker, at the river bottom.
Charles graduated from Riverside Poly High School in 1966. He was an electrician with the Riverside Unified School District for 30 years.
After retiring from the School District, Charles worked at Hobby People and enjoyed building and flying model airplanes and hanging out with his wonderful neighbor, Elke.
He will be missed by many including his brother, Bobby Killingbeck; sisters, Murlina Scharringhausen and Deborah Riley; son, Danny Killingbeck; daughter, Lisa Berkeley; grandchildren, Ariana Killingbeck, Benjamin Botkin, Chase Berkeley, Phoenix Blacker, and Kassie Torres; great-granddaughter, Aurora Killingbeck; good friend and former spouse, Barbara Bartoo; and, perhaps most importantly, his loyal dog Beau.
A memorial service is scheduled at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary at 7944 Magnolia Avenue, Riverside on Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at 9:00 a.m.
