Doris (Gould) Kook, age 90, passed away of natural causes at her home on December 22, 2011.
She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother as well as an accomplished florist and beautician.
She was born March 8, 1921 in Fortescue, Missouri. After graduating from beautician’s college, she married Maurice Gould in 1940. Doris was a homemaker, a part-time beautician and supported her husband’s career. She was involved in her children’s activities, including Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, and PTA, as well as volunteering as a Parkview Hospital Pink Lady. She began her career as a florist after Maurice died in 1969 and became well known for her creative floral designs. She married Joseph Kook in 1985. They travelled extensively and enjoyed their grandchildren and their pug dogs. She and Joseph were constant and loving companions until her death.
Her surviving family members include her husband Joseph Kook; daughter Maureen Trainor; son Greg Gould; five grandchildren, Summer Gould, Melissa Gould, Breanne Bosworth, Adam Trainor and Matthew Trainor; and two great grandchildren, Autumn Surratt and Madison Bosworth.
She will be remembered for her devotion to her many friends and to her family. We will all miss her warm heart, her caring attentiveness, her easy smile, her heartfelt concern for others, and most of all her love.
A Memorial Service will be held in her honor on Friday, December 30, 2011 at 1:00PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park, 11500 Arlington Avenue, Riverside, CA 92505.
