

DR. WILLIAM PRIGGER JR. Dr. Prigger went home to be with the Lord on the 18th of December, 2012 at the age of 94. Dr. Prigger was born on April 19, 1918 to William and Gertrude Prigger Pedricktown, New Jersey. His father was a local store owner. Bill graduated from Wheaton University where he prepared to be a minister and attended Eastern Baptist Seminary, in Philadelphia. In the third year of seminary, Bill was recruited by the U.S. Navy for service during WWII. As a Navy Chaplain, he served in the Philippines and Bouganville Island. In his more than 60 years of service to God, Bill served as pastor of churches in Alhambra, Garden Grove, South Gate, and Oxnard, California, Binghamton, NY, Calgary, Alberta Canada and Atlanta, Georgia. Following retirement from active ministry, he had 13 different interim pastorates including First Baptist, Riverside. Dr. Prigger is survived by his wife, Mary Jo; son Bill Prigger III of Matzatlan, Mexico; daughter, Patti Husar of Loveland, Colorado; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Dr. Prigger will be remembered for his enthusiasm for life and his unfailing love of his Lord. A visitation will be held on Friday 12/21/12 from 5-8pm at Acheson & Graham Mortuary. The funeral service will be on Saturday 12/22/12 at 11am at First Baptist Church. The interment will be private.
