June was born on June 15, 1921 in Guelph, Ontario, Canada to Oswald and Edith Barber. She was married to Bill Willis of the Royal Canadian Air Force on their joint birthdays on June 15, 1941. They emigrated to Riverside, California in 1949 where they raised their three children, John, April (Bolin), and Bill.
As the children grew older she began working in retail sales including Blue Chip Stamps, but she spent the most enjoyable part of her career as a Realtor which fit well with her natural good humor and communication skills. She loved movies and reading her whole life, as well as flower gardening. She was renown for her chocolate chip cookies and apple pies which she generously shared. Her great pleasure for many years was seeking out curiosity pieces at garage sales and auctions.
June is survived by her three children, six grandchildren (Tom, Amy, Jonathan, Joshua, Meghan, and Andrew), and six great-grandchildren (Kyra, Alexander, Jessica, Aoife, Kai, and Sam).
She will be buried beside her husband at Olivewood Cemetery in Riverside, California. A private memorial service is being planned to celebrate her life. Donations may be sent in her behalf to the Riverside Assistance League or the UCR Botanic Gardens. Please see link below.
