

Ed was born in Los Angeles, California on March 12,1942, to Paul and Dorothy Carlson. He was one of four children. Raised in Temple City and graduated from Monrovia High School in 1960.
After high school, Ed joined the US Navy and served from 1960-1964, serving on the same ship a few years with his brother, Bob Carlson. He was a Boilerman, as far down as you can go on a ship.
He met his wife Patricia at a Church function. They married on August 7th, 1965. They recently celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Ed worked for 40 years in Military Commercial Manufacturing, and retired in 2005. Ed and Patricia moved to a 55 and over community. Ed was involved in the community and served on several committees, including Volunteer Sheriff.
Ed enjoyed seeing family out of state and traveling when possible. Cruises were particularly cherished.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia Carlson (Millham). His children, Dennis (Rhonda) Carlson and Derek (Tracy) Carlson. His grandchildren, Nathan Carlson, Ashley (Steven) Starr, Brianna (Tim) Eddy, Cash Carlson, and Ivy Carlson. Great-grandchildren, Adam, Summer and Shaun Eddy and Gwenevere Starr. He is also survived by his siblings, Vern Carlson (Mary) and many other nieces and nephews.
Ed is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Dorothy Carlson, Sister Virginia Burlison and Brother Robert Carlson.
