on October 26, 2021. She was the second of three daughters born to Royal Forest Ellet
and Crystal Mae Ellet (nee Harris), July 30, 1933.
Frankie is survived by her three children, David Ellet Young, Daniel Ellet Young
(Kathy), and Karen Suzanne Young. She also leaves behind three grandchildren, Crystal
Irene Young, Amber Young-Powell, Aaron Young, great grandchildren including Shelby
Lynn, Conner, Austin, Kathleen, Nicholas, Jacob, Jackson, Cali, Cooper, Samuel and a great-great
grandchild, Jaxtyn.
Frankie spent her youth in Monrovia where she excelled at softball and was a star of the
area teams for whom she played. She was also a talented singer, participating in a popular
trio that would perform at local events.
In 1951, Frankie graduated from Monrovia-Arcadia-Duarte High School (MAD. High
School), now Monrovia High. The school under that name existed from 1927-1954 with
the namesake San Gabriel Valley'S growing cities sharing the school's expense.
Following graduation, she was working at McBratney's Clothing Store when venturing
out to a roller rink one evening she met the love of her life, Francis Robert "Bob" Young.
"Head over heels," the two married, February 20, 1953. In 1967, the young couple moved
with their three children to Corona. Tragically, in 1980, at the relatively young age of 52,
Bob passed away. Following her funeral service, Frankie will be laid to rest next to her
beloved husband, whose pet name for her was "Buzzard Bait," a sign of true love.
Following Bob's passing; Frankie worked for 22 years at Robert Shaw in Corona,
retiring in 2003. Frankie enjoyed life, as did anyone that was lucky enough to spend time
with her. These lucky folks would sometimes be treated with her spot on impression of
Fire Marshall Bill. Frankie loved to laugh and tried her best to help others do the same.
She enjoyed socializing with friends and family, frequently decorating her home to match
the season and her mood, while always creating a comfortable space for her guests and
loved ones to enjoy. Frankie, will be forever missed and lovingly remembered by all.
