

Gloria J. Lopez passed away on December 22, 2023 in Riverside, CA surrounded by her family. Gloria was born on July 23, 1948 in Riverside, CA and was a lifelong Riverside resident. Daughter of Frank Juarez and Augustina M. Juarez and was the eldest of 8 siblings. She met the love of her life, Tomas Lopez, while attending a dance and was later married at Saint Anthony’s Catholic Church on May 26th, 1979
Gloria’s love for education led her to devote 34 years of her professional career to Riverside Community College. Even after retirement, she volunteered at Elementary Reading Programs and the Padres Unidos Scholarship Program at Alvord Unified School District.
Gloria had many passions, from crocheting/sewing, watching her Lakers play, Lawrence Welk reruns, to dancing to her favorite bands like Latin Society and the Glenn Miller Band, just to name a few. However, her family was her biggest passion and love. She always made sure she attended her children and grandchildren’s events, sports and celebrated their achievements. She was their biggest supporter and made sure they knew she was proud of them.
Gloria and Tomas loved going to the movies and eating out at their favorite restaurants with their grandchildren. She enjoyed meeting and talking to people. She also loved being at home and sitting on her favorite couch.
She lived a humble yet fruitful and joyous life. She is leaving a legacy of continued family support and love to the next generations.
Gloria is survived by her husband Tomas Lopez, son Michael- Tomas Lopez, daughter Angelic- Renee Trujillo, son-in-law Angel Trujillo Jr., grand daughters Viviana Trujillo and Shaila Lopez, and grandson Eli Lopez. Vigil Services will be held on January 17th 2024 at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary at 7944 Magnolia Ave. Riverside, CA 92503 from 4:00- 8:00 pm. A Catholic Rite of Committal service will be held on January 18th at Evergreen Memorial Park, 4414 14th St. Riverside , CA 92501 at 1:30 pm.
