

Harry earned his BA Degree from the University of California, Los Angeles and his Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the School of Law at UCLA. While in College, he also served in the California Army Reserves, reaching the rank of staff sergeant during the 1950s and early 1960s. Upon graduating from UCLA Law School and passing the California State Bar Examination, he practiced law as a licensed attorney for 65 years. His areas of specialization involved estate, tax, environmental and general law.
He practiced law for the state of California during the 1960s. He left employment by the State of California to be employed by the Security Pacific National Bank for 20 years (1970 to 1990). He then enjoyed private practice until his permanent retirement.
Harry was born in Easton, Pennsylvania on July 17, 1934. He and his parents, James and Bessie, moved to Los Angeles County during the early 1940s. Harry grew up and went to local schools in Compton, CA. He lived in Los Angeles County communities until 2024. He also traveled to the Bay Area to work for the State of California. His favorite community to live in was West Los Angeles.
Harry met his wife, Kaaren Wheat Hawk, in the early 1960s through their shared work involving California probate law. They married in 1969 and had twin sons: Daniel Harris Berman and David William Berman. Harry and his family loved their baby dogs and one cat for 56 years of family life.
Harry's hobbies included antique hunting, walking around West LA and reading multiple genres of literature. Harry was a diligent and professional practitioner of the law for 65 years who sought to promote his clients’ legal rights and interests.
Harry is survived by his sons Daniel Harris Berman (Los Angeles, CA) and David William Berman (Riverside, CA). Harry is preceded in death by his mother Bessie Belgrade Berman (West Hills, CA), Father James H. Berman (West Hills, CA), and wife Kaaren Arvilla Wheat Berman (Riverside, CA).
