I was about 12 or 13, i was in Jr High like in 7th grade when my cousin Irene showed me how to apply face foundation and powder n introduce me to the famous Aqua net, u know what i mean🤭 I know that sounds young but my aunt Yoli n I were excited about getting older i guess. To me my cousin Irene was was cool, pretty n stylish. So of course Id loved when she let us hang out with her. My favorite was when she'd let me n my aunt Yoli tag along with her n my uncle Tony on cruise night in San Bernandino on Mt Vernon St. She'd be riding shotgun in my uncle Tonys el camino n my aunt n I would be n the back but we didnt care. Love you cousin, may you rest in peace. ❤

Praying for God to give you peace and comfort during this difficult time. Let the memories you share be what pulls you through.

I met cousin Irene for the first time when I was 19. It was a family function at Dianes house in MV. I was a little nervous because I was a stranger to the Mercado family as I was raised by my mom. Irene was so welcoming. With such a big smile she gave me a big hug and welcomed me and treated me like I had been around all along. It felt so nice and it made me feel comfortable. She had a smile that would just warm the heart. I love how lively Irene always was. Always so happy. I don't think I ever saw her with a frown. She livened up everywhere she went. I remember on my 34th birthday we had a gathering at my house. Billy put on some music and Irene got up and started dancing and we followed right behind her. She always made time to come to my families parties, whether it was a birthday or any function. Even if it was just to stay for a few minutes as she would be going to another function right after. Family was everything to her as you all know. I am so happy that I moved to Riverside when I got married because it gave me a chance to meet Irene. I am very blessed and thankful to have been abel to be part of her life for the time I was abel to. I love you cousin Irene and will miss you truly.

I had the honor of not only working with Irene, but also becoming dear friends throughout our years together. Irene was a conscientious, dedicated and hardworking employee. Irene’s smile and laughter were contagious and she was revered and well respected by all who had the privilege of working with her. We shared many laughs, a few tears and a bond I will always cherish. She cheered on her Raiders and poked fun at my Broncos. I loved bantering back and forth and she was always a great sport! Irene spoke often about and loved her family dearly, she adored her husband, she loved and was so very proud of her son and daughter-in-law, and last but not least, was absolutely head over heals for her two adorable grandsons. Like everyone who was touched and blessed by Irene, I miss her terribly and she will always hold a special place in my heart. I offer my love, prayers and heartfelt condolences to Irene’s entire family, circle of friends, coworkers and community. May she rest in everlasting peace.
