Jacqueline Anne “Mom” McNally passed to her reward on April 21st, 2023. She was affectionately known as Jackie to her friends and beloved husband of 55 years, Michael John McNally. Jackie and Mike are together again, standing side by side at the beginning of forever. Jackie was born on July 27th, 1942 in Roswell New Mexico, and settled later in Southern California. “Jazzy Jackie” met the love of her life, Mike, at her first professional gig as a jazz pianist in Oceanside, California. They moved from California to New York for a short time, but Jackie was a California girl through and through. Jackie spent many a summer day at her parents house in Rubidoux, Ca, enjoying time swimming in her parents pool along with her children, and the children of her brother and two sisters, Rahn, Blanche and Maxine. Jackie loved the beaches, and exploring the natural habitats of Southern California. Jackie joined several community conservationist groups, and worked as a nature guide and educator at the Rubidoux Nature Center. Jackie’s love and respect for nature was a characteristic that she instilled in her 6 children. She rescued animals, and was a longtime caregiver for several California tortoises. She also loved chickens, raised purebred dogs, and even rescued and appropriately cared for several wild animals, including a raccoon, possum and crow. Jackie was a devout Catholic, and will be missed by her dear friends from her parish and local church, Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Jackie was an avid reader, and she could recount stories and insights gained from the hundreds if not thousands of books she read. All of her six children, Terence, Maureen, Daniel, Michele, Joseph and Mary, were exposed to literature from an early age. This exposure helped each of her children grow to become individualistic, independent and intellectually curious adults, each with a successful career in health care, arts and entertainment, construction and education. Her household was always filled with pictures of her family, great American literature, jazz music on the stereo and tributes to her love of nature and her unrelenting faith in the Holy Spirit. Her sly sense of humor, her razor sharp wit and love for life and laughter will be remembered fondly by her dear life-long friends Joseph and Betty McGrath, her siblings, nephews and nieces, her children, and her beloved grandchildren, Julian, Schyler, Levi, Elvis, Lorelei, Carlitos, Emily Rose, Catalina, Astrid, Guillermo, Alejandro and Max. Rest now, mamma, we love you. Sail on silver girl, sail on by. Your time has come to shine. All your dreams on their way.
