Jeanene (Haycock) Kinder was born in Cannonville, Utah on December 26, 1937. Raised by her Grandmother, Ismay Henderson, she and sister Patsy stayed in Cannonville through their teenage years. As a teenager, Jeanene spent summers in Salt Lake City with Aunt Enid and Uncle Jay . One summer she worked as a car-hop at Don Carlos and it was there she met the love of her life, Jim. When she returned to Cannonville to finish high school, Jim and his 56 Chevy, Belair, made many quick trips to Cannonville to see his girl. They married in August of 1956 and settled in Salt Lake City. A few years later saw the parents of three little girls, Cindy, Jeaneal and Lez Lee, moving to Modesto, California, then Escondido. Escondido was nice, but a few years later, they were on the move again. This time, to Norco, where they would stay.
Jeanene would eventually work as a cafeteria lady at Norco High School, so she could be home when her girls were home. This allowed her to support their many activities. Evenings and weekends would find her at 4-H events, rodeo practices, teaching primary, and endurance races. Jim worked long hours and traveled for his job, leaving Jeanene and the girls to care for many horses as well as the home. When Jim retired, he found an old 56 Chevy Bel-Air, and he and Jeanene would take it on dates and to car shows, when they weren’t traveling the country in the motorhome. When they were home, they were often found watching grandkids participate in soccer games, karate matches and dance recitals, scout activities and awards ceremonies.
Besides the three girls, and son-in-law, Danny, Jeanene leaves behind her sister, Pat, and six grandchildren. Kevin, Andy (Racheal), Patrick (deceased), Scott (Jacquelyn), Kellie (Elaine) and Justin, and Anthony. She was a proud great grandmother to Isaiah, Jayton(Lydia), Shawn, Ethan, Liam, Brayden, and Owen. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Although we miss her terribly, we are grateful to know she is out of pain and reunited with our Dad and Patrick, and many others who she loved so much.
Services will be held at 11:00, on Saturday, October 21, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 3600 Norconian Drive., Norco, CA 92860
