Karen Faye Jackson was born in California in 1955. She was the elder sister of Teresa Kay and the two were very close. After high school she attended nursing school. She served as a nurse for over 30 years working primarily in convalescent hospitals caring for the elderly. This was one of my mom's greatest passions to help and give to others.
Very dear to my mom was also her relationship with the Lord. She loved her church and attending her women's groups. We had started our own bible study together which gave us one on one time that I will always treasure. She had a quiet, gentle spirit and was loved by so many.
Most dear to her was family. I am her only child so we spent a lot of time watching movies, playing games, and hanging out when I was young. We were inseparable. Her most treasured title was "Gran". She inherited that title at the age of 39 when her first grandchild, Tajanae, was born. Followed by Aniya, Jacob, Josiah, and Jaidyn. She loved her grandbabies and was always excited to watch them. They were her heart and soul.
When you think of my mom, remember her laugh, her smile, her kindness, and her joy for the Lord.
