Michael Louis Shephard

Michael Louis Shephard, a beloved resident of Riverside, California, passed away on January 6, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on May 14, 1940, Michael was known for being hard-working, adventurous, humorous, kind-hearted, wise, and honest.

Raised in Riverside, California, Michael graduated from Ramona High School and attended RCC college for a short time. He spent approximately ten years living in Missouri, where he enjoyed life on his cattle ranch.

Michael dedicated 19 years of his career to working as a surveyor for Riverside County. He later became a licensed contractor and started his own business, Shephard Construction, in Riverside.

He was married to Diane Shephard for 22 years and later remarried Sally Shephard, with whom he shared 40 years of marriage. Michael was a devoted father to three children, including Heather Marie Martinell, and two sons who predeceased him: Brian Shephard, who passed away in May 2016, and Kevin Shephard, who passed away in April 2022. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Deborah Waldron and Donald Thomas, as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In his personal life, Michael enjoyed hunting, fishing, collecting, woodworking, and anything related to construction. His adventurous spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many, leaving a lasting legacy for his family and friends.
