September 14, 1949 – December 17, 2025
With deep sadness and immense love, we announce the passing of Richard Edward Becerra, who left us on December 17, 2025, at the age of 76. Though our hearts ache from his absence, we take comfort in knowing that he left us to be with his family and friends in heaven.
Richard was born on September 14, 1949, in Corona, Ca. He graduated at Corona High in 1967. At the age of 19, Richard met the love of his life, Katty Becerra, at the Naval Weapons Center. Their bond was instant and enduring, and together they shared 57 years of marriage, building a life grounded in dedication, love, and family. Richard’s heart was fullest when surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his wife Katty, and by their three children—Michelle, Ricky, and Julie. Richard was also a deeply proud grandfather to seven grandchildren, each of whom brought him endless joy and meaning.
Richard is preceded in death by his father, George, his mother, Josephine, and his younger sister, Roberta, whom he now joins in heaven. He is also survived by his younger brother, Robert.
Richard honored his parents by striving to make them proud, dedicating his life to supporting those he loved, and living out the values they instilled in him. He passed those same values on to his children and grandchildren—Kindness, compassion, generosity, integrity, responsibility, perseverance, and a strong work ethic—ensuring that his legacy continues through them.
Richard lived a life defined not only by the love he gave at home, but also by his dedication to his community. Driven and hardworking, Richard owned and operated his own auto parts business in Norco, Ca. for 22 years. He was also a proud and active member of the Norco Lions Club. Richard served as President in 1976 and was honored as Lion of the Year, leaving behind a legacy of service, leadership, and genuine care for others.
Richard was a man full of life and curiosity. He enjoyed fishing, coin collecting, working on classic cars, riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, and collecting and reading comic books. He also loved listening to music—especially the soulful voices of Otis Redding and Al Green. Richard was known for his remarkable sense of humor and his gift for storytelling. He could make a room laugh, captivate anyone with a tale from the past, and he found joy in sharing history, knowledge, and memories with his family. His playful jokes, and his wisdom will live on in those who were lucky enough to call him family and friend.
Though we miss him dearly, we find peace in knowing that he is now surrounded by loved ones who welcomed him home, and that his spirit remains with us—in every story told, every laugh shared, and every memory we hold close.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life during a viewing on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Pierce Brothers Crestlawn Memorial Park on Arlington Avenue in Riverside, California. A Mass and funeral service will follow on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM.
