Richard Henry Van Lierop, 81 years young, passed away on 3/12/25 at his home in Riverside, California. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and will be deeply missed. Born and raised in Long Beach to Sam & Trynie Van Lierop, he was the only son out of 10 siblings and was a pillar to all his sisters their entire lives.
Richard was always tinkering and playing MacGyver in his garage and around the house on the daily. He loved the outdoors, which is why he moved to his Lazy ‘T’ Ranch in Montana after he retired. For the last 20 years, he spent his time in-between Montana and Riverside, driving back and forth with the love of his life, Ginny and their 2 golden retrievers. He loved Model T’s and joined the OCMTC; was a dedicated Veteran who volunteered at the American Legion, Post 299, for many years cooking on Taco Tuesday & also serving in their Honor Guard Detail quite regularly. He is survived by his wife, Virginia L Wilkins; Daughters, Nicole M Currier, Rhonda L Tholl-Michaels; Son, Randell Harris Van Lierop; daughter-in-law, Kim Van Lierop; son-in-law, Edward Currier; 6 Grandkids, Reed Hunter Van Lierop, Stephanie Jones, Joseph Oberg, Thomas Oberg, Krista Penrod, Kyle Penrod and 4 Great Grandkids, Joseph M Oberg 2nd, Amelia R Oberg, Luke T Oberg, Elijah J Oberg.
