Bob was born on July 7, 1929, in Paonia, Colorado, to Fern Emma McKissen Crisler and Kenneth George Crisler. After attending Cranford High School, he joined the United States Air Force. In 1950, he met Katherine Shipman and they married in 1951 at McChord Air Force Base. Bob served during the Korean War and was promoted to Master Sergeant in 1964 while stationed in Colorado Springs. While on active duty, he pursued his education and in 1965 earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business with a minor in Economics from Colorado State University, Pueblo.
In 1968, Bob was selected for Chief Master Sergeant (E-9), the highest enlisted miliary rank, which he received while serving in Vietnam in 1969. Upon return to the U.S., he was stationed at Norton Air Force Base in San Bernardino, where he completed his student teaching requirements and earned a California Teacher’s Credential in Business Administration. After 23 years of service, he retired from active duty in August 1972. That same year, Bob and Katherine moved to Bothell, Washington, where he worked for the City of Bothell’s Public Utilities Department until his retirement in 1992. Katherine died in early 1999.
Later that year, Bob met Barbara Tucker during a trip to the Canadian Rockies. Despite the challenges of a long-distance relationship, their bond endured and they married in October 2000. In 2000, they made Riverside their permanent home. They enjoyed traveling together to many destinations, including Ireland, Italy, China, Mexico, Canada, and across the United States.
Bob was active in the Riverside Community Hospital Cardiac Rehab Program and volunteered with the Mended Hearts Chapter 123, counseling heart patients. He also enjoyed playing cards with his friends at the Janet Goeske Senior Center.
Bob was predeceased by his parents, his first wife, Katherine, and his second wife Barbara. He is survived by his stepsons, Michael Tucker (Joan) and Joe Tucker (Shelley); his stepdaughter Renee Lorah; five grandchildren—Katie Gladish, Danny Tucker, Amy Rigby, Tiffany Citizen, and Krystina Lorah; and seven great-grandchildren—Logan Gladish, Parker Gladish, Nikayla Lorah, Travis Tucker, Jace Tucker, Cole Rigby, and Nora Rigby.
