Mrs. Shirley Lorraine Bradshaw was born to parents John E. Cote and Dorothy May Parks-Cote in Riverside, California on April 1, 1935 and passed away at home, surrounded by her family, in Riverside on August 23, 2015. Shirley was a life long resident of Riverside and a well known figure of the community. Shirley had a love of children and touched many lives in her career of more than 30 years as a dedicated teacher in the Riverside Unified School District. Shirley spent her retirement years traveling the country with friends and loved ones. Her favorite destinations were the ones that brought her close to family and grandchildren. She particularly loved the mountains of Colorado. Shirley is survived by her son Dale Bradshaw of Hemet, California; daughter Beverly Goodwin and husband Greg of Montrose, Colorado; step-son Mike Bradshaw and wife Lynn of Hesperia, California; and her very special friend and traveling companion Jim Johnson of Riverside, California. The joy of her life was her grandchildren; Shiloh Bradshaw and wife Stephanie, Dean Bradshaw, Jonathan Goodwin, Nicholas Goodwin, and great-grandson Micah Bradshaw. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Dean Bradshaw, as well as her parents and sisters Jackie Cote-Kabel and Gladys Cote-Sexton. Though she will be dearly missed by the many people she has touched, she has inspired those closest to her to live every minute of their lives to the fullest. A service in her memory will be held at Acheson and Graham Garden of Prayer Funeral Home on Tuesday September 1, 2015 at 11:00 AM.
