Steve is survived by his son Jeremy Steven Harris, grandson Jeremy Steven Harris Jr. Mother Leona Marie Mcgarrh, brother Michael Wayne Harris, sister Tammie Marie Clarke and sister Debbie Kay DiMenna
Steve was our brother, our mother’s son, a father, a grandfather and friend to many! He was always very laid back and mellow. He would often giggle which showed us his innocence. His big smile warmed our hearts. He was our big teddy bear and was always trying to protect us all! He was very concerned about others, and he had a super compassionate heart. He wanted to do so much for other people that it almost hurt!
He loved his son Jeremy very much and put his life on hold to raise him all by himself. He was a good dad and was always there for his son and raised him well! He had to be the mom & the dad. He never complained about it once and just did what he needed to do!
In the past year or so he got really into mountain biking, kayaking & camping. He loved the outdoors! It made him feel free with no worries and a place where he could rest his mind!
He was also super passionate about cars and racing. He just went to the NASCAR Bush lite Clash at the colosseum in February which was held in Los Angeles for the very first time ever! He was also a big fan of red bull racer number 33 Max Verstappen.
He collected race hats and was big fan of collecting watches!
He recently had the opportunity to meet his all-time favorite guitar player Al Di Meola! It was a special time for him, and the encounter really meant a lot to him!
Growing up he was always popular and funny, and everyone loved being around him! He was always joking around and smiling! He had a subtle arrogance about him, but deep down he was just a little shy!
He really had a big heart and always came from a place of caring!
When he graduated high school, he and a couple of friends sold everything they had including their cars and took only a backpack and their surfboards to Costa Rico for an entire month. He said it was the best experience he had ever had in his life!
He was his happiest when he played bass for a band called Lazy Jane in the 90’s! It was a good time in his life, and he was very happy to be in a band and being a part of something with his friends! They played tons of shows all over and he really enjoyed being on stage and in the limelight.
He earned his degree in Criminology from Kaplan University in 1998
He had recently recovered from a bad bicycle accident and was eagerly looking forward to returning to riding, camping, and kayaking. He also had a new job in the works and was looking forward to a change in pace as well as the opportunity to meet new friends.
Steve was loved by everyone that knew him. He was a good, honest, trustworthy man that always meant well. Those of us who were lucky enough to know him, will never forget all the good times we shared.
Our beloved Steve: You will be deeply missed, and life will never be the same without You!
We will never forget who you were, and what you gave to all of us throughout our lives!
Love you always, from Deb, Mike, Mom, Tam, Jeremy & little Jeremy Jr.!
We will look forward to the day, when we are all together in heaven!
