Terry Garcia Benzor sadly passed away on Monday, April 17th, at the age of 74. She was a wonderful mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who always acted selflessly for the ones she loved. She was born on October 24th, 1948, in Riverside, CA, raised two daughters on her own, and had the perseverance to go back to school to earn her bachelor’s degree and eventually her master’s degree at UCR. She worked for over 30 years as a teacher at Chino High School in the Special Education department, eventually becoming the department head. She poured her heart into this career, often championing for the tough kids at school during challenging times. She was very proud of her Mexican American heritage and planned and executed a highly anticipated Cinco De Mayo event every year at Chino High School. She is survived by her daughters, Diane Benzor and Michelle Benzor, and her four brothers and their wives: Junior and Lydia Garcia, Bobby and Pat Garcia, Eddie and Shirley Garcia, and Jimmy and Esther Garcia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Francis Garcia.
