Wendell, known as Wendy to his friends, was a resident of Riverside, California for 64 years. He worked as a concrete contractor for 45 years. He owned/operated Burson Concrete Contractors for over 20 of those years before retiring in 2003. He was a quarter horse enthusiast having owned numerous horses for most of his life. He was a good baseball player and played for Riverside Community College in the early 60's. He was known by all of his family and friends as a most generous, humble and hard working man.
Wendell is survived and will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 53 years, Janet Burson; son Chad Burson; daughter-in-law Leslie Burson; daughter Wendy Ann Bowers; and son-in-law Jeff Bowers; granddaughter Spenser Bowers, granddaughter Kate Bowers, grandson Ian Burson, granddaughter Alana Burson and granddaughter Veronica Burson.
A visitation for Wendell will be held Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary, 7944 Magnolia Ave, Riverside, California 92504. A Celebration of Life Service will occur Thursday, June 21, 2018 from 11:00 AM also at Acheson & Graham Garden of Prayer Mortuary with a reception to follow from 12:00 - 3:00 pm.
A private committal service will occur Friday, June 22, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Olivewood Memorial Park, 3300 Central Avenue, Riverside, California 92506.
