

Jean was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, step-mother, step-grandmother, aunt, sister-in-law and friend. She was the beloved wife and best friend of her only love of 50 years, Wendell Alcorn, Sr. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Latter Day Saint temple of the Lord. She had a bright mind and a pleasing personality. She enjoyed reading the newspaper, clipping coupons, talking for hours on the phone with her mom and sister, shopping on Saturday, family reunions, and eating out at Jim’s Family Restaurant with Wendell. She and Wendell especially enjoyed traveling around the country together visiting family and friends. She had a fantastic memory for numbers, dates, and times, and never forgot to send a card for birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations, etc. She retired as an accountant after working more than 41 years for Kirkham’s Outdoor Products. She served her family and her church faithfully and cheerfully. Her kindness to all is a tribute to the beauty of her heart and soul. We will miss her beautiful smile. Jean was 75 years old, born Oct 22, 1941 in Junction City, Kansas. She was the daughter of Willis and Evelyn Schiller. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on January 15, 2017. She was preceeded in death and is now joyfully reunited with her parents, her son Earl Alcorn, and her grandson Jared Alcorn. She is survived by her sister Kay Bruni (Ed) and their sons, Gregg Bruni and Glenn Bruni, her loving husband Wendell Alcorn Sr., 7 step-children: Merlon Alcorn, Wendell Alcorn Jr., Barbara Larson (Brad), Connie Kiser (Rick), Bill Alcorn, Sherrie Rose (Bobby), Bryan Alcorn (Corin); 11 step-grandchildren: Ben Alcorn, Kristi Atkinson (Darin), Kyle Alcorn (Charvel), Brandon Alcorn, Gareth Betterton, Gavin Betterton (Breanne), Tonnie Alcorn, Dallin Rose (Jenn), Kayla Wagstaff (Cole), Melanie Rose, Mason Alcorn; 8 step-great-grandchildren: Aisha DeGooyer (Taylor), Ashton Atkinson, Devonte Alcorn, Nicco Frommel, Briella Rose, Parker, Annabelle, Lola, Hallie, Emma; 1 step-great-great grandchild: Zyler DeGooyer. A viewing for family and friends will be held Fri, Jan 20, 6-8pm at the LDS church, 3274 Hillsdale Dr, WVC. A family viewing will be held Sat, Jan 21, 11:30am – 1pm at the church, followed by funeral services at 1pm, followed by a graveside service at Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City, UT.
