Joyce Ann Staker (Miller) returned home to her Father in Heaven on Thursday, May 2nd, 2019 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She was born July 22nd, 1937 in Bolivar, Missouri to Tommy and Meda Miller. She has 3 siblings: Ruth, Delores, and her late brother Charles. Early in life, Joyce dreamed of being an actress and loved watching movies and dreaming about Hollywood. She also loved to travel and when she was 18 she moved out, and embarked on her first trip to go to San Diego. In 1969, her travels took her to Idaho Falls where she met the love of her life, Ron Staker, while dancing at a night club. She enjoyed dancing and music and really tore up the dance floor back then. Dad says he couldn’t ever keep up with her!
She was employed at Sears department store and was dedicated to her job. Her example showed us all how to be loyal and do our best. After more than 30 years with Sears, she retired in 2008. A decade prior, in 1997, she became a grandma to the first of 9 grandkids. They were her everything and she loved them all so dearly. She fulfilled her dreams of being a mom and a grandma and will be greatly missed by all! We know she will be watching over us now and for all eternity! She is survived by her two sisters: Ruth and Delores, husband: Ron Staker, daughter: Melissa Cregger, son: Devin Staker, and her 9 amazing grandkids.
A graveside service will be held for her on Friday, May 10th, 2019 at 11am. Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park ~ South Valley, located at 13001 South 3600 West, Riverton, Utah.
