Robyn Melanie Jones Daines, age 31, of West Valley City, Utah, passed away on March 24, 2026, in Murray, Utah. She was born on March 22, 1995, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Clark Andrew Jones and Jennifer Jones.
From a young age, Robyn showed remarkable intelligence and curiosity, speaking early and demonstrating a quick ability to learn. At the age of eight, she experienced a significant medical event and suffered a stroke. Despite the challenges that followed, Robyn faced life with determination, courage, and a sweet smile. Though she lived with considerable pain, she chose joy and resilience, inspiring all who knew her.
Robyn had a thirst for knowledge and a deep love of learning. She found joy in history, writing, dinosaurs, polar bears, and dogs. She had a special gift for connecting with children and brought warmth and kindness to those around her. Her faith was a guiding force in her life—she held a firm testimony of Jesus Christ and the Plan of Happiness, and she found great comfort and hope in her belief that she would one day be reunited with her Savior.
As a child, Robyn cherished time spent with her siblings, reading, and traveling with her family to places like Disneyland and Yellowstone. When her younger sisters were born during her teenage years, she formed a special bond with each of them, delighting in holding them and reading to them.
Robyn worked at Mo’Bettahs, but her real passion was writing historical fiction and dystopian novels. From short stories as a youth to novels as a young author, writing was her passion. Her love of history contributed to her endless imagination.
In 2021, Robyn met Connor at a young single adult ward, and they had an immediate connection. They were sealed for time and eternity in the Jordan River Temple on June 10, 2022. Connor loved Robyn deeply and was devoted to her happiness and well-being. Together, they shared many hopes and dreams and look forward to an eternal future.
We express deep gratitude for the love and compassion shown by Connor’s parents, Greg and Marilyn Daines, who welcomed her as their own and became a second set of parents to her.
Robyn is survived by her beloved husband, Connor MacGregor Daines; his parents, Gregory and Marilyn Daines; his siblings, Lacey (sister) and Hunter (brother); her parents, Clark and Jennifer Jones; her siblings, Molly, Lillian, EJ (Eleanor), and Quinley (sisters), and Noah and Jonas (brothers); as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family members.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Jimmy D. Thacker and Melanie Jean Bankhead Thacker.
The family extends special thanks to Joanne Nelson for her continued love and support, as well as to the many doctors, nurses, and specialists who cared for Robyn throughout her life.
Robyn will be remembered for her bright spirit, her deep faith, her love for others, and the courage with which she lived each day.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 28, 2026 at 6:30 pm
