Obituario de Carol Northup Carpenter
EN EL CUIDADO DE

Blue Ridge Funeral Home & Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens

Carol Northup Carpenter of Zephyrhills, Florida formerly of Virgil, New York went home to be with her heavenly Father on February 4th, 2026. Carol is now reunited with the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Bob, who passed away three years prior. Carol Ann Northup was born on January 14, 1937 in Cortland, NY. The

oldest of eleven children, she was preceded in death by her mother, Marjorie Burdick Northup and her father, Jay F. Northup Sr.; brothers: John M. Northup, Kihm F. Northup, Douglas C. Northup, Keith L. Northup, Hugh L. Northup, Kevin W. Northup; and sister: Sandra Harris. Carol is survived by her son, Robert M. (Marty)

Carpenter (Deanna) of Cortland, NY; Robin (Wallace) Andrus of Riner, VA; four loving grandchildren: Robert M. Carpenter III, Christopher Carpenter, Michelle Erdt, and Wallace Andrus Jr.; and three siblings: Jay F. Northup Jr., Cindy Northup, and Nancy Root. Carol also leaves behind a legacy of six great grandchildren: Christopher Jr., Phoebe, Charlotte, Rudolph, Denver, and Parker.

Carol moved to Virgil, NY with her husband when they wed in 1956. The pair owned and operated Carpendale Family Farms for 47 years. They later turned the business into The Cow Palace Auction Barn- which was a Friday night staple for many years. Carol loved cows! She had an extensive collection of porcelain cows, cow plates, cow pillows, and cow photos that decorated her home. She was always easy to buy a gift for at Christmas time. In addition to being an avid cow collector, Carol was active in the Virgil Fireman’s Auxiliary, the Virgil PTO, a Girl Scout Leader, a member of the NY state grange, and a member of the Virgil United Methodist Church. Carol’s patience, attentiveness, and listening ear will forever be

remembered by those who loved her.

Carol will be laid to rest this summer next to Bob at their family cemetery plot in Dryden, New York.
