Rebecca L. (Turner) Perdue, born on January 1, 1939 in Roanoke, passed away on January 29, 2026 in Richmond at the age of 87. She resided in Richmond for many years.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jimmy and Lola Turner, and husband E. Wayne Perdue. She is survived by her sister Brenda Edmondson (Andy Tunnell), nephew Chris Edmondson, wife Christian and children Ryan, Casey, and Raegan. Also, by stepson Jason Perdue, wife Cindy, children Brandon and Trevor. Many long time special friends, co-workers, the Med-Tech monthly lunch group and many other friends.
Becky graduated from William Fleming High School in Roanoke in 1957, received her BS degree from Mary Washington College in 1961, received a Certificate for Medical Technology from Medical College of Virginia in 1962. After working for several Richmond area hospitals, she went to work for the State of Virginia in the State Lab in 1994 and held several leadership positions including Group Manager of Dept. of General Services, Division of Consolidated Labs as the Group Manager over quality assurance, safety and training services, before retiring in 2013 after many years of dedicated service.
Becky served on the MCV Foundation Life Time Board of Trustees. Was a member and served as past President of the Alumni Association and served as a Board Member for the VCU Alumni Association. She also was an Emeritus Member of the Alpha Mu Tau Fraternity (for Medical Technology). The family would like to extend a very grateful "Thank You" to all the doctors, nurses and staff at the VCU Hospital and VCU Critical Care Hospital for all the loving care and compassion during her time in the hospital.
In Lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions can be made to the MCV Foundation in support of the Medical Laboratory Science Fund (50264). Checks, payable to MCV Foundation, may be mailed to MCV Foundation, 1021 E. Cary Street, Suite 1100, Richmond, Va. 23219.
A Memorial Service will be held in Roanoke at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in the mausoleum on Saturday, March 21, 2026 at 1:00 P.M.
Becky's Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date for the Henrico / Richmond area.
