Cecil Ray Roberson

Cecil Ray Roberson, 78, died Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Cape Fear Valley Hospital in Fayetteville. The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:00 PM at the First Christian Church with Dr David Brown officiating; burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors.

Mr Roberson was born in Martin County on August 9, 1933. He was the son of the late William Clyde and Blanche Hopkins Roberson. He retired in 1995 from Robersonville Products where he had worked as a Production Manager. Also he was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a member of the First Christian Church. On October 10, 1954 he married Thelma Gurganus Roberson who survives. Survivors in addition to his wife are daughters Cecilia Roberson Irby of Wilson and Angela Hawkins of Fayetteville, son Michael Edward Roberson of Sneeds Ferry, sisters Judy Edwards, Peggy Wynne, and Carolyn Griffin all of Williamston, brothers Paul Roberson of Williamston and William Roberson of Southern Pines, grandchildren Robin Lee Irby, Stacie Raye Irby, Alexander Paige Roberson and Brooke Roberson Hawkins.

The family will receive friends today from 7-8:30 PM at Biggs Funeral Home in Robersonville.
