

Brooks Ezell Turner, Jr. was born August 12, 1950 in Meridian, Mississippi to Ezell Turner and Lillie Bragg. Ezell moved to Rock Island, IL with his mother as a youngster. Once here he met many people that are still very close and dear to the family.
Ezell lived life to the fullest. He loved sports and people in that order, and the camaraderie that came with each. As a youngster, Ezell wrestled for Rock Island High School and played baseball on many area teams. An avid bowler, Ezell belonged to the Rock Island Arsenal League and the Downtown League. Ezell really loved baseball and had recently traveled to Chicago with his children to watch his favorite team, the New York Yankees play. A true people person, Ezell never met a stranger and was well known for his calm demeanor yet booming voice. He coached baseball for many years and was very passionate about the game and his players.
Brooks “Ezell” leaves to cherish his memory, his father, Ezell (Frances) Turner, sons, Brooks Ezell Turner III, Adreian (Treonah) Roper, daughters, Skyla Roper and Katrina Roper. Also his sister’s Janet Bragg, Natalie Bragg, Gwendolyn (Don) Holloway, Priscilla (Steve) Banks, Carlene (Mike) Stayton, Pamela (Victor) Glasper and one brother Carlos Turner. He also leaves to mourn his step-children, Candice, Cayla, Desaray, Jazmin, Christopher, and Jaylonnie. Special friends, the Lam Family, the Harper Family and LaToya Rhoden. Ezell’s life will continue to be celebrated by a host of grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Ezell was preceded in death by his mother, his wife Denise, a daughter Crystal, and twin grandsons-Adreian Jr. and Adreian III.
