

Alfred was born Alfonse H. Drozdowski on February 19, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio. His father was Wladyslaw Drozdowski, who emigrated from Poland to the United States of America at the port of New York, Ellis Island on September 29, 1921 at the age of 42. His mother was Wladyslawa “Lottie” Blusewicz, who also emigrated from Poland to marry Wladyslaw. The youngest of six children, he had 5 brothers and 1 sister, who predecease him.
He joined the Army (Air Force) at the tender age of 17 years old at 2525th AF Base Unit in Warrensville, Ohio on February 10, 1944, where he learned to fly, starting with the B-52 Bomber. He was honorably discharged on November 7, 1945. His love of flying continued throughout his life, culminating with the Gyrocopter he owned and loved to fly locally for several years.
He is survived by his wife, Isabelle Dorsey; daughter Lisa Alford; Son in law Kim David Alford; grandson Ryan Alford; daughter Jamie Casanova; and Son in law Jay Straub. Also his three dogs, Marie, Jenny, and Stella, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins in Ohio and Arizona.
Alfred bought his parents their first home in Ohio after leaving the Air Force. He was a true family man who along with his wife Isabelle, founded and built Florida Aid to Animals in 1989. It is currently run by his daughter Lisa Alford and Son in Law Kim D. Alford.
He was also the founder and builder of Brevard Aid to Animals along with his daughter Jamie Casanova in 2009, who continues to run the clinic.
He also had a Brevard County based business, Mark IV Aluminum, that he started and ran for more than 20 years in Rockledge.
He started out as a Patternmaker in the Cleveland, Ohio area, then moved to Florida in 1967 with his wife, two daughters, cats and dogs, deciding Ohio was too cold and that he wanted to live by the ocean.
A Memorial Service will be held at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL on Sunday June 19th, 2016 at 2:00 pm.
