Anair Echevarria, 89, of Melbourne, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving and devoted family. Anair was born on August 9, 1936, in Guayanilla, Puerto Rico, to the late Julio and Luz Maria Figueroa Irizarry.
From an early age, she carried within her a gentle strength, deep faith, and a heart devoted to caring for others.
Anair dedicated many years to shaping young minds as a third-grade teacher in the Wyandanch School District on Long Island. She adored her students and lovingly looked after them as if they were her own. During the cold winter months, she would quietly provide coats, hats, and gloves to ensure every child was warm and cared for. Teaching was not just her profession—it was her calling, and her kindness left a lasting imprint on countless families.
She was an avid reader who found joy in books and lifelong learning. Anair also gave generously of her time, volunteering at local churches where she lovingly crafted handmade rosaries. In quieter moments, she delighted in watching her favorite game shows—often enjoying the simple pleasure of playing along from home.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon Luis Echevarria; her cherished daughter, Annette Flynn; and her son-in-law, Michael Ball.
Those who will forever hold Anair in their hearts include her loving daughter, Jeannette Ball; her son, Ramon L. Echevarria II and his spouse, Suzanne Echevarria; her son-in-law, Joseph Flynn; her grandchildren, Ray Flynn and spouse Valerie Flynn, Travis Blain, Stephanie Stewart and spouse Cruz Stewart, Kristen Cremer and spouse Jason Cremer, Cameron Echevarria, and Christopher Echevarria and spouse Hannah Echevarria; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Nathan Stewart, Nicholas Stewart, Mason Stewart, and Alyssa Stewart.
Visitation will be held on March 6, 2026, beginning at 12:30pm, followed by a Funeral Mass at 1:00 PM at St Mary Catholic Church, 1136 Seminole Dr, Rockledge, Florida 32955.
