Anthony was a devoted husband to his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara, a loving father to his daughters Ann Marie Waelti and Christine Vecchi. Proud Grandfather to Michael (Katelyn) Orndorf, Andrew Orndorf and Cayden Waelti. Anthony became a Great Grandfather to Addison, who blessed our family in November. He is also survived by his brother Robert Vecchi (Joni), Rick Waelti Jr. and many nieces, nephews and countless friends. He was pre-deceased by his daughter Christine and his sister Theresa Herbert (Roger).
Anthony, known as Tony by all who knew him, was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Brevard County in 1990 with his wife and 2 daughters. He retired from the New York City Police Department in 1989 as a Lieutenant after over 26 years of service. He was an active member of the Father Gabriel council of the Knights of Columbus and of the Brevard County Chapter of the 10-13 Club.
Cruising was one of Tony’s favorite modes of traveling as he said it was the best way to see the world. He greatly enjoyed his group cruises with friends and family. There will never be a shortage of memories and stories to share with each other. Tony’s presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him,
especially his family.
A memorial mass honoring Anthony and his daughter Christine will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at 1pm at Ascension Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.FloridaMemorialFH-Gardens.com for the Vecchi family.
