She will be remembered by her loving husband, Raymond. Dear Mother to Susan Gordon (Frank), David Tannuzzo (Laura), and Thomas Tannuzzo. She was predeceased by her youngest son, Nicolas Tannuzzo in 2005.
Barbara was a beloved "Grammy" to her eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Many of them have fond memories of spending time with her on Cape Cod and later at her home in Florida.
Barbara attended the Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) School of Nursing class of 1956. Shortly after graduation, she married the love of her life, Raymond, and later they moved to Acton, Massachusetts, where they raised their family.
They moved to Cape Cod, Massachusetts, in 1980 and later to Florida in 1994, where they have called home ever since.
Always the trailblazer, Barbara attended classes and earned her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Nursing from Lowell State College. She was a born leader and excelled in her career long before it was fashionable for women to work full-time outside of the home. She was proud of her professional success and frequently reminisced about her time at MGH.
After retirement, Barbara spent time gardening and became a master gardener, enjoyed cooking many of her amazing dishes, and volunteered for the Mended Hearts Club. She also discovered her artistic side and created many fine porcelain pieces, including plates, wall hangings, and serving dishes.
Friends and Family are invited to celebrate her life on Monday, December 8, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, located at 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida. A Celebration of Life will follow at the same venue, beginning at 2:00 pm.
In place of flowers, please hug someone you love.
