Robert “Bob” Pariseau was born during The Great Depression and he spent his 94 years of life spreading love and kindness everywhere he went. Bob was a man dedicated to his family, active in his church, and volunteered in his community through the Brevard Art Society and Mended Hearts at the local hospitals.
Growing up in Massachusetts, Bob worked as a bowling alley pin setter and played on many levels of baseball teams. His love of baseball grew from local games with neighborhood kids to organized school teams, and more advanced leagues. He even coached local baseball teams and it was through attendance at a baseball game, that he met the love of his life. Bob was happily married to his loving wife, Joan, for 57 years. Together they travelled, enjoyed collecting Native American art and artifacts, literature and raising their son, Brian.
Bob was the ultimate father figure. He and Brian participated together in the Indian Guides program. Father and son explored out west on wagon train and horseback camping trips, and white water rafting. Everyone Bob met was graced with stories of how much he loved being a father to Brian and their exciting adventures together.
Bob’s career as a project manager for construction projects on the Florida Space Coast was also a source for his legendary storytelling. Bob’s projects on the very beginnings of Cape Canaveral and the Merritt Island Launch area allowed him the opportunity to witness much of history happening live in his backyard.
When Bob was not sharing time with family, he enjoyed golfing and continued his love of baseball by following his Red Sox. He regularly attended Divine Mercy church services and Bible study groups. It was only after retirement that he got deeply involved in the art of oil painting and other artistic mediums.
Bob had a natural artistic eye and attended advanced painting workshops to perfect his talent. Upon his passing, it was evident how very many people from all walks of life he had touched with his talent and generosity. Dozens of acquaintances have contacted the family to share stories about Bob. Some were community folks he may have met at a donut shop, fellow exercise walkers, card players from Merritt Island mall, management of his assisted living community, and even a number of food service and housekeeping staff came forward to share their stories of an artwork or genealogy project that Bob gifted to them.
His infectious smile and generous nature radiated joy to all who met him. The world is a better place for having Bob Pariseau among us for his 94 years. His passing leaves us better individuals for having known this gentle soul but with a deep, aching loss because we know how much his presence brought to our lives.
A funeral mass for Bob will be held Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 1136 Seminole Drive Rockledge, Florida 32955.
