Eugenie Fuchs El Gabalawi of Melbourne passed away into the loving arms of Jesus on Sunday, June 24, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on April 9, 1940 in Wurztburg, Germany, the daughter of Barbara and Richard Fuchs.
Genie had an incredible work ethic and was self-employed for most of her adult life. She was thoroughly devoted to her husband of over 20 years, Amil Gabalawi. Together with her marriage to Amil, her entire family and her relationship with her Saviour Jesus Christ were her highest priorities. She was actively involved in the Freedom Christian Center in Viera and in several Christian Ministries.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her sister, Richarda Hebling, a brother, Manfred Fuchs, and a nephew, Stefan Hebling all of Freudenberg, Germany. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Nadia Girgis and her brother-in-law, Adly Girgis of Dover, Delaware, her nieces, Adele Gabardo and her husband, Jean-Pierre Gabardo of Ontario, Canada, Izabel Roa and her husband, Brandon Roa of Lake Worth, Florida, and Arlene Benton and her husband, Benjamin Benton of Dover, Delaware, as well as the Ishak family of Havre de Grace, Maryland, and several nieces and nephews, and other family in Egypt, Canada, Sweden, and Germany.
