

Evelyn was born on December 14, 1925 in Brownville, Alabama to John and Amy Vernon. Shortly after graduating high school Evelyn moved to New Orleans and started her career with South Central Bell where she met Walter, the love of her life. They were married and enjoyed 63 loving years together. They lived in Louisiana for many years where they welcomed and raised their two children, Steven and Linda. They moved to Melbourne in 1994 after Walter’s retirement to be closer to her daughter Linda and her family. Her son, Steve also relocated to Melbourne a few years later and reunited their family for many years.
She was a faithful member of Eau Gallie First Baptist Church for 24 years. The family is warmed by the faith that she is now welcomed home to God and reunited with her husband, Walter. She is preceded in death by Walter; her son, Steve; grandson, Steve and her parents and siblings. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Wells (Husband- Richard), her daughter in law Tami, and her three granddaughters, two of which were raised close to her, Angie Hodges and Amy Flynn as well as great grandchildren.
Everyone that knew Evelyn knew she had a heart of gold with a keen eye for crafts and pure love of holidays.
Evelyn was loved and respected by all and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
