Maria Baez, 86, of Melbourne, passed away at her home July 20, 2011. Maria was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico to Eugenio and Roberta Robles Negron. She came to this country in 1989 and lived in Brooklyn, New York before residing in Florida.
She is survived by her 9 children; daughter, Gloria Sastre; son, Miguel (Nelly) Baez; daughter, Ada (Charlie) Baez; son, Santos (Evelyn)Baez; son, Francisco (Carmen) Baez; daughter, Carmen Stadleman; daughter, Susan Baez; son, Jose Baez; daughter, Virginia (Felix) Millan; 27 grandchildren; 35 great- grandchildren; and 16 great great-grand children.
She was preceded by her loving husband of 60 years, Santos on May 22, 1989 and son-in-law, Tomas Sastre.
A viewing will be held at Florida Memorial Funeral Home Saturday, July 23, 2011 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011 beginning at 1:30 pm.
