Dear George, for me and my family you have been much more than a friend, you have taught me so many things and given valuable advice like a dad and you have always treated me like a member of your family, I remember you with your happiness and our jokes, we spent many funny moments, in the morning I always came to visit you at your beloved vineyard and cabin, or you came to my office which was also yours. and then I accompanied you on your business trips and we talked a lot, I remember your beloved Dreher beer even if you did not drink alcohol and ice cream with Coca cola etc etc, and all your wonderful and beautiful Family to whom I want very good !! I still don't believe you left us but this is just goodbye .... Ciao George

Have met you just few times when you were visiting Trieste (Italy) and then spent some days with you at your place in Florida. You gifted me with such good memories…what a nice person George. I will always remember you with a smile.

What a huge hole this leaves in our family & in my heart. I'm thankful it's bringing so many people who cared about my dad together though, and the support has been amazing.
My dad was a fixture in so many people's lives, and I miss him deeply.
I'll miss his laugh, his selflessness, his incredible abilities, and so much more, but will hold on to the good times, & carry his traditions & love of family with me.

When I’d visit FL one of my favorite people was Uncle George.  He was always available for a quick laugh and a joke, of which, he had a few.    He was a problem solver.  
He was passionate about what he did and who he loved, namely his family.  
He was the kind of person who’d give you the shirt off his back and the world is a lesser place without him. 
He had a special place in my heart as someone who helped me through hard times after my brothers death years ago.   
He wasn’t one to dwell on death rather to enjoy life, thats what boats and fishing were for.  
I will never look at movies like “Dances with Wolves” and “Legends of the Fall” the same, he appreciated a great story and beautiful things.  
He was a great guy, he will be missed by his family and the void he leaves behind is huge.

Ciao George, or, as you told me… Giorgio. I can’t believe that you are not more with us, but you are, because you were like a rock, and a rock will never disappear! Every moment with you was funny, in Trieste, in Florida, in Croatia. We spent a lot of beautiful moments together, with you, with your lovely Eva, with your wonderful family, with my mom, and with your father too! I can hear your deep voice in my mind, or when we sang together “Green grass of home”. I will never forget your breakfasts at the pool at your beautiful house, our dinners, our lunches and when you…fell asleep on the chair, and many other things. You were particularly simple and simply particular. Thank you George, I’m proud that I knew you, more than 20 years ago. Love

George was like a father for me, I loved him so much, and I'm happy we had spent quality time together every time he come to Italy.

George loved gatherings and entertaining. A number of my memories of him (going all the way back to 1979 when I met his son Jan -- we were just little kids) include often having several/lots of other people around. He put up with me for decades. Sometimes even enjoyed me. Food, music, humor -- he was easy that way.

Anyway, one time during a late-January 2019 Florida visit, I spent an evening just spontaneously driving around and dropping in on friends unannounced (it's a healthy thing to do in this day-in-age). Sure enough, about 9p, I dropped by the Dussich house to drop a quick hi to George and Eva, hoping it wasn't too late. Knocked on the door. George answered and smiled widely at finding me standing there. He was home alone -- as unexpected as my visit.

But naturally, he invited me in and we sat in the kitchen (of course, that's where Italians and Latinos love to socialize!). 
Equally naturally he insisted on plying various food stuffs on me (I generally accept, being constantly hungry by nature. People know this. For some reason I remember savory mash potatoes, green beans and wine) and we just talked and joked about all kinds of things, the light and the heavy. 

One could level with George. Mellow, friendly, all down-to-earth.  Just him and me. Extremely rare. 

Certainly not one of my most colorful memories of him. But rather precious all the same.

Godspeed you, George...

George, with a big smile and always so enthusiastic you will always be in my thoughts. You told me stories from your time with ASEA, your projects ,and your Italian background. We talked about food and our families, and you were so proud of your children and Eva.  

You came to my son’s hockey match in Stockholm once, and gave him supporting words afterwards, and you encouraged him in his dreams.  That meant a great deal to him … and to me. I am so happy to have learnt to know you. You were not just a client to me, so thanks a lot for all laughs we had. Rest in peace my friend.
