Geraldine Steele Foss

Geraldine Steele Foss, 99 years old, died July 11, 2024, at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She leaves behind one sister, two daughters, one son, 2 son-in-laws, four grandchildren, 2 grand daughters-in-laws, and five great-grandchildren.

Gerry, was a long-time member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Indian Harbour Beach a member of the Choir, and the Sewing Guild that made many quilts for the Lutheran World Relief. Sewing was her passion. She would design clothes for herself, family, and friends, including wedding gowns, bridesmaid dresses, and prom gowns.

Gerry and Warren, her husband, were married on June 3, 1945, they met at Wright Patterson A.F.B. in Dayton, OH. They were stationed in Germany during the occupation at Oberfaffenhofen A.F.B. Their first daughter, Judith was born in August of 1947, in Munich Germany. They then moved back to Wright Patterson A.F.B. till 1950. Their son, Denyven was born in San Antonio, TX January 1951, and their daughter, Deborah was born in Chatearoux, France September 1957. Their career in the Air Force had a total of eight relocation moves. The last one was here at Patrick A. F. B., now Patrick Space Force Base, in 1963. Warren retired in 1965 and then worked at NASA until 1983.

Gerry loved to travel and the wanderlust wasn’t over. They purchased their beloved Vixen RV and traveled over 200,000 miles which included Alaska, and Mexico. That was the best job they ever had, as my Dad would say.

She will be greatly missed by family and friends, and her gift of sharing the stories of her life which will always be remembered. Her service will be July 20, 10:30am at Ascension Lutheran Church, 1053 Pinetree Dr. Indian Harbour Beach, Fl.
