Helen Charlotte Kowalske, 97, a long-time resident of the Melbourne, FL area passed away peacefully July 8, 2016 at the Life Care Center of Palm Bay, FL. She was born in Erie, PA on April 24,1919 to Richard and Hilda Johnson.
For those that were blessed to know Helen, knew her for her contagious smile and willingness to make friends and family happy. She was kind, generous, and would help anyone who needed it.
Helen was a member of the Eastern Star of Melbourne, served as the treasurer for the Presbyterian Church of the Good Shepherd where she and her husband, Lewis were members, and volunteered at the Daily Bread Sharing Center of Melbourne. She also spent time baking and making crafts for friends and family.
She is survived by her son Adrian (Linda) Travis of Palm Bay; daughter: June (Jim) Hutson of Orlando; grandchildren: Brian (Melissa) Travis of Loganville, GA, Steven (Anna) Travis of Palm Bay, FL, Jim Jr. (Sherrie) Hutson, and Janene Daniel all of Orlando, FL; and 11 great grandchildren.
Her husband Lewis, and 4 younger siblings predeceased her.
The viewing and service will be Thursday, July 14, 2016 at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. respectively, in the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL.
