

Jack will be very missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Phyllis Sue; his daughter Sherry Scott (Dan); his three granddaughters; Leslie Riley (Scott), Crista Eaton and Valerie Scott-Patterson (Tom); six great grandchildren; Cailey, Addison and Gage Eaton, Andrew and Jordyn Riley, Jack Scott-Patterson. He was preceded in death by his parents, Walker and Saloma Mutter; three brothers, William Mutter, James Walker Mutter and Douglas Mutter; two sisters, Patty Martinez and Janet Stone; one son, Garrett Todd Mutter.
Jack was born in Red Jacket, West Virginia. He lived most of his life in the Appalachian Mountains of Kentucky and Virginia. He spent two years serving in the Army and returned home to graduate from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, Ky. Jack spent his entire life fulfilling his calling to be a pastor. He was pastor at Harmon Baptist Church of Harmon, VA, Meta Baptist Church of Meta, KY and Grundy Baptist Church of Grundy, VA. After retiring, he moved to Florida and spent years serving as pastor of Cape Canaveral Baptist Church, Cape Canaveral, FL.
Friends and family will bid him farewell at 1:00 Tuesday, February 01, 2022 at the Life Event Center of Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL.
