

James Randall Anderson (Randy) passed away peacefully in his home in Melbourne, Florida on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at age 82. He will be lovingly remembered by his high school sweetheart and wife of 62 years, Judith (Wood) Anderson. Dear father to Susan Robbins (Wes), Angie Salvo & Scott Anderson (Lisa). Beloved Grandpa to Courtney, Mariah, Josh, Allie, Matthew & Mackenzie. And Great-Grandpa to Laina, Lilah, Hailey, Riley and Beckham.
Born in Kirkland Lake Ontario, Canada, Randy enjoyed all things hockey and remained true to the Toronto Maple Leafs.
His parents moved the family to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida when he was 11 years old, and then on to St. Petersburg, Fl. It was there he met his love, Judy, where they both played the trumpet in the marching band.
Post secondary, Randy enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served for 4 years and 4 months, working in Avionics on F4B Phantom jets.
Randy then earned his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering at University of Florida.
His career spanned from IBM at Cape Canaveral to Motorola and finally NCR in both Canada and Atlanta, Georgia.
Randy retired in 1998 but continue tutoring students of all ages in math and sciences.
He took several mission trips to Russia and China accompanied by his wife Judy, with Calvary Chapel missions. He faithfully attended Calvary Chapel, Merritt Island, and was active in teaching Sunday school, missions' groups, and men’s prayer groups.
Randy was a “people-person”, with an affinity for children, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. His goal with every interaction was to make others laugh.
Randy was not ashamed of his love for Jesus and wholeheartedly wished to share the gospel with all. He prioritized serving and providing for his family, in addition to anyone else who had a need. Randy/Dad/Grandpa was one of a kind and very loved by all.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be grateful for any donations in his memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday March 26th at 1:30 pm at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery: 5525 US1 Mims, FL 32754. Please get there by 1:15pm as the service starts promptly at 1:30.
