

James W. Young "Jim", age 92, of Melbourne, FL passed away Saturday, August 14, 2021, while with his loving daughter in Georgia. Born in Greenfield, Tennessee, Jim joined the Army and served in the Korean War before settling in Michigan where he and his wife, Beverly, raised their three daughters. He lived in Lansing, Michigan 25 years before moving to Melbourne, FL in 1979.
Jim enjoyed participating in and watching sports and was once recruited by the St. Louis Cardinals, opting out so that he could serve the country in the Army. In earlier years, he enjoyed hunting and horses, but being able to spend time with his family was his true joy. Jim was devoted to his Lord and Savior , Jesus Christ. He will be remembered for his strong Christian faith, integrity, honesty, and sense of humor. Jim believed in serving , and over the years served in the churches he attended as a bus driver, youth group leader, custodian, trustee, board member, and went on several service trips to aid in rebuilding after hurricanes hit.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beverly Young. Jim is survived by three daughters: Cindy Hall (Brian) of Michigan, Connie Robart (Bill) of Michigan, and Crystal Strandberg (Mark) of Georgia; eight grandchildren and their spouses: Tiffany Williams, Kimberly Adams, AJ Moore, Benjamin Hall ,DeAnna Moore, Brad Robart, Jennifer Lockwood, and Jamie Cape, ; as well as 25 great-grandchildren with number 26, coming this winter.
In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Watervliet Free Methodist Church Building Program.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Life Event Center at Florida Memorial from 3:00-4PM with a graveside service at 4PM at Florida Memorial Gardens.
