He was born on March 22, 1925 in Birmingham, Alabama. He served in the Navy during World War II, after which he graduated in Aeronautical Engineering at Auburn University, Alabama in 1949.
John began his engineering career with NACA at Edwards Air Force base in California and after several years there, moved to Melbourne, Florida and worked with Northrop Grumman, AVCO, Bendix, and Rockwell International until he retired in 1988.
He spent his spare time, after retirement, enjoying his hobbies; golf, gardening, and traveling. He loved his family and grandchildren, and loved his church and church family and had been a member of First Baptist of Eau Gallie since 1963.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 71 years, Suzanne, three sons; David (and wife Donna), James, and Edward, and a beloved granddaughter; Olivia. As well as a brother, Dr. Eugene Carden of Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
A visitation for John will be held Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at 10:30 AM at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, Florida 32955, followed by a funeral service from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
