John Thaddeus Pieprzny, 81, of Melbourne, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on August 8, 2025. Born on December 17, 1943, in Buffalo, New York, to Leocadia (Wyraz) and John Francis Pieprzny, John lived a life devoted to family, faith, and hard work.
John graduated from Marquette University in 1966 with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He was a Vietnam War Veteran and served in the Army. He went on to build a distinguished career in the insurance industry, serving nearly 50 years in leadership roles with Travelers, CBIC, and RLI, ultimately retiring as Senior Vice President.
A devoted Husband, Dad, Papa, Brother and Uncle, John is survived by his beloved Wife of 53 years, Anne Mahaney-Pieprzny; his children, Laura Anne Pieprzny-Breisch (Daniel Ray Breisch) and John Edward Pieprzny (Kristin Ann Barlet-Pieprzny); his grandchildren Daniel, Matthew, Michael, Steven, and David (children of Laura Anne) and Michael, Aiden, Riley, Elise, Amelia, and John (children of John Edward); his sister, Joanne Brogan (the late Raymond J. Brogan); and his nephews, the late Raymond Brogan (Kathy Brogan), Jeff Brogan (Karen Brogan), and Greg Brogan.
John’s greatest joy came from spending time with those he loved. He enjoyed playing golf with his friends and grandsons, traveling the world, taking cruises, visiting casinos in Biloxi, The Bahamas, and Las Vegas, and was an avid follower of the stock market. A lifelong Buffalo Bills and Marquette Warriors fan, he also loved relaxing at home watching football, college basketball, and golf. He was a parishioner of Ascension Catholic Church since 1990 and a proud founding member of the Suntree Country Club in 1991.
Those who knew John will remember him as a true gentleman – a man of great integrity, unwavering work ethic, and a heart that always put family first. His warmth, humor, and kindness touched everyone he met. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
