

Born May 15, 1928 in Clairton, PA, he was predeceased by his parents, John and Julia (Bindas) Skolnik; his wife, Hazel Margaret (Loveall) Skolnik (2013), his sons, Jon Skolnik (1992) and Stephen Skolnik (1962), brother, Stephen Skolnik; sisters; Mary Elizabeth Trocheck, Katherine Thunhurst, Agnes Melcher and Julia Skolnik; and sister-in-law Leona Ostrosky (Loveall).
John married the woman of his dreams on August 16, 1950 after serving in the Navy and completing his BS at University of Pittsburgh. Teaching in Clairton for five years, they next moved to Orlando Florida where John taught high school. The family moved to Melbourne in 1965 to follow John as he continued his career with Harris Corporation (Radiation). During this time, John received two master degrees from Florida Institute of Technology to add to his masters from University of Pittsburgh. Retirement from Harris Corporation came in 1992 after 36 years of loyal service. John loved his family and enjoyed family time the most. He also relished boating, fishing, completing cross word puzzles, jeopardy, dancing, playing cards, roller-skating and bowling. He volunteered at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the Daily Bread Inc.
Left to cherish the memories are his brother, Andrew (Nancy) Skolnik of Belle Vernon, PA, brother-in-law, William Loveall, surviving children Janice (Gary) Kendall, Linda (Joseph) Zuccari, Sharon (Carl) D'Alessandro, Jeffrey (Sharon) Skolnik, and Erik (Kristin) Skolnik, grandchildren Brian (Brandi) Kendall, Lisa Carole (Jon) Hansen, David Kendall, Rebecca Johnson (Michael), Lisa (Nora) Loveall, Gabrielle Zuccari, Joseph Zuccari III, Rachel (James) Watts, Allison Moye, Jennifer Guthrie, Stephen Skolnik , Joseph Veltri, Dominic D'Alessandro, Zoe D'Alessandro, Kolby Skolnik, Kylee Skolnik, Ella Skolnik, Shawn Skolnik, great-grandchildren Christian Kendall, Nicholas Kendall, Ian Hansen, Carolyn Marie Marsh, Meagan Jeanneane Marsh, Noah Marsh, Riley Watts, Kristian Watts, Fox Loveall, Arch Loveall.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Melbourne, Florida
with interment to follow at Florida Memorial Gardens.
