Joy F. Rasberry, age 88, a native of Montgomery, Alabama, and a resident of Indialantic, Florida returned to her heavenly home on January 1st, 2019. Joy was welcomed into the world on August 21st, 1930 by James and Marion (Dinkins) Foster. She graduated from Judson College with a Bachelor of Arts on May 26th, 1952 and then enrolled in the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary in Wake Forest, North Carolina. However, she left the seminary to support her husband and his ministry. She married the love of her life and best friend, John E. Rasberry in 1952. They were married over 62 years. She was a proud chaplain’s wife, christian, mother, grandmother, and school teacher. Her passions were her family, volunteering, tennis, bridge, and playing the piano accompanied by her angelic voice. Known for her faith, compassion, dry sense of humor, and heart of gold, Joy was loved and respected by all who knew her.
Joy will be greatly missed by her daughter, Jan Darling, grandchildren, Rachel, Jesssica, Jacob (sons Ayden and Kellen) and Maddison, and numerous beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends. Joy was preceded in death by her husband, Chaplain John E. Rasberry, son Jeffrey Rasberry, parents James and Marion Foster, brothers James Foster, Jr. (Marcella) and Joe Foster.
A Memorial Service celebrating Joy’s blessed life will be held at 1:30pm Saturday,
