

He was born in Johnstown, PA on March 11, 1927 to George and Frieda (Wagner) Bauer. He graduated from Stuyvesant High School, and earned a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Pratt Institute of Technology in New York City. He worked for 43 years for The Babcock and Wilcox Company, mostly as a Cost Estimator and Manager of Cost Estimating, for their Fossil Fuel Boilers and Nuclear Reactors in the Power Generation Division. He was a long-time member of the American Association of Cost Engineers. He loved to golf with friends, and even had a ‘hole-in-one’. He was a dedicated and loving husband and father who was extremely honest and kind.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years; Dorothy (Humbert), his sons: Ron (and wife Michele) of Satellite Beach, FL, and Edgar (and wife Laura) of Turnersville, NJ, five grandchildren; L. Thomas Wynn (WI), Eric Bauer (CA), Christopher Bauer (IL), Joshua Bauer (FL), and Jared Bauer (NJ). He is predeceased by his father and mother, George and Frieda Bauer of Hollywood, FL., and brother, Guenther Bauer of Gouverneur, NY.
A memorial service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Life Event Center at Florida Memorial, 5950 South US Highway 1, Rockledge, FL with Chaplain Stephen Rossi officiating. Flowers are accepted, or memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
