Lawrence Marshall Jacobson, beloved husband of Phyllis (LaBelle) Jacobson, father of Donna (Rob), Glenn (Chris) and Wayne (Gail), grandfather of 9, great grandfather of 14 and a plethora of friends, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2026, in Melbourne, FL. He was the son of Donald and Laura (King) Jacobson and brother of Bette May Beagles.
Lawrence Marshall Jacobson dedicated 22 years to serving in the Air Force, where his career took him and his family to three different countries. Throughout his service, Lawrence was committed to ensuring his loved ones were always by his side, making every new destination a shared adventure. Lonnie was also a Mason and member of the American Legion.
After retiring, Lonnie and Phyllis spent 10 wonderful years traveling across the United States in their RV. They enjoyed making new friends, reconnecting with old friends from the military, and attending almost every major parade and specialty event—including Mardi Gras, New Mexico Balloon fest, and even visiting the Mormon Tabernacle Temple. Each summer, they made it a priority to visit their children's families, cherishing quality time with their grandchildren and creating lasting memories together.
After their adventurist travels, they settled down in Palmetto, FL at Piney Point. Lonnie was President of Activities for 3 years, organized and served Thanksgiving Dinner for 17 years—serving over 200 friends each year—and ran the park golf league. Lonnie was a prankster and enjoyed laughing with all his friends and appreciated a good joke.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Florida Memorial Gardens in Rockledge, FL on 01/23/2026 from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to K9’s for Warriors, a military charity that provides service animals to veterans in need.
Born with an adventurous spirit and a warm heart, Lawrence touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering support. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his passion for lifelong learning, and the joy he brought to every gathering.
Lawrence's memory will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and all those fortunate enough to have shared in his remarkable journey. A memorial service will be held in his honor, celebrating a life well-lived and the legacy he leaves behind.
